I am Woman
By Dawn Conrad James
I am so much more than the 'rib' ascribed to my gender by biblical history...
I am more than sexual organs and Orifices
Designed for man's pleasure...
So much more than
The hands
To Comfort Clean Cook Diaper Sew...
So much more than
The tongue
Gushing
Words of adoration
Vindictive abuses
Utterances of prayers.
See me
For the whole of me...
See me
Not only for my
Outward comeliness...
See me
And admire
My brain...
The totality of
My energies
Bringing to bear
On All phases of this life
To
Advance
Enrich
Secure
A better way
For all.
I am woman!
Inured with the strength
Of a tsunami
Lathered with
Patience and
Endurance
Endowed with such
Intelligence
Many fear my
Existence.
And yet...
I hold within my heart
Compassion...
I hold within my heart
Sympathy...
I hold within my heart
Forgiveness...
I hold within my heart
Unconditional love
For His world...
The environment and all therein.
I am woman!
Need I say more?
